darn. that would have been handy.

But then again, they were mainly used to control a large amount of units by cycling through...

But then another again, we could recall different groups easily...

But then again, I'm rambling...

Hey why don't just just implement them on the Zodiac and h4350? They have a lot of extra buttons to do it.

What is the purpose of having the DateBook, AddressBook, ToDo and Memopad only move the map left and right? Why is there no Up/Down?

I have never used the buttons this way. The minimap is much more accurate and useful.

:D I'd love to see the buttons do something more useful. These could be used to center over an area like where I have my HQ, HRC and VTS. A different idea is to select a unit to follow like Andy :D (Maybe a tap-n-hold with a button press could 'Set' these) :D

On a long screen like the T3, Sony's, or PPCs, it would be neat to have a button bar to zoom to areas.

On the square screens, there just isn't enough screen real estate. 64x64 maps take up 1/6 of the screen on my Tungsten C.

The left/right hard buttons are that way because on some Palm devices the buttons are aligned differently, and this lowest common denominator use mapped well as a generic layout. I agree it would be nice to have a way to customize button use. It's a wish that's on the list.
