The game plays fine, but the colors are horrible. The color options don't seem to assist. While it says "hi-res 320x448" on the option, my screen is 320x480. It appears to be using 8 bit color when my unit is a 16 bit color unit (the iQue). I've seen other programs that don't properly handle the 16 bit color of the iQue. Also, the iQue's bottom menu and brightness slider (when activated) are "banded" and blocky instead of smoothly shaded from dark to light (on the brightness slider). As a result the colors are goofy and the color resolution and screen quality are no where near what is shown on your web site. For example, on the startup tutorial screen, the background shows as a pale yellow and the hue control (and saturation control) can not adjust it to a "grass" green although a sort of green can be obtained. Also, the shading or texture of the "grass" is poor. Any fixes for this, something I could change in the setup or some such? I took the Palm OS 5 Hi Res option when I installed the game. |

The problem is the status bar doesn't hide on the Garmin iQue (the only Palm compatible with this issue). Warfare changes the screen to 8 bit mode, and the status bar is not remapped to the color palette that Warfare uses (another Garmin bug) so it looks like this.
I don't have a lot of suggestions. There is one possible thing we can try. Please mail me at scott@spiffcode.com so I can send you a "status bar" library to see if it makes the status bar hide. Thanks. |

Sorry I didn't reply Don. I'm trying to find the library I mentioned previously (working on it). I'm also waiting on some information on other games to see how they deal with the Garmin issue. I'm come back to this thread once I have more info.

Don, this is a long shot, but please try this and let me know how it works on your Garmin. I suggest hotsyncing first in case things go south.

Both libraries are loaded, don't see any difference. Any harm in leaving those libraries loaded or should I now delete them? |
