Im running Warfare Inc on a Compaq Ipaq. Somehow when i try to enter the bluetooth multiplayer mode, it always fails, giving me a "Cannot open selected transport error". My bluetooth radio is on, and I've allowed access to my device to all other devices. Could it be that I have to first connect to the serial port of the other device? Note that I cannot even enter the bluetooth mode, ie I don't even get to start to host or connect a game.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Can you tell me what iPaq model you have? Also if you can find a built in bluetooth management app, run it and see if you can find information about what bluetooth version your device is running.

Thanks.

Im using Compaq Ipaq 3870 with the built in bluetooth, and according to bluetooth manager my Bluetooth firmware is 114d, my BT Browser is Version 1.1 , and my bc01 Chip version is 1.65h.
Please tell me if you need any other information.

WI supports Widcomm bluetooth stack versions 1.3 and 1.4 which works on most 2002, 2003, and 2004 PocketPCs that offer bluetooth, especially iPaqs. The iPaq 3870 is an older device, perhaps it is running something different (non-Widcomm stack or non-1.3, 1.4 compatible) although that would be surprising. I am not familiar with "114d". I will research it and report back.

I've just tested the game on my friend's Ipaq 3970, somehow it doesn't work too...the same error appears.

Did you happen to write down the bluetooth version number on that device? I will look it up too.

yorke, if you search for:

3870 bluetooth stack

on google, it'll show that there is a ROM update and a bluetooth update to both the 3870 and 3970.

Could you please update to the latest ROM and bluetooth patches and try again?

Here's a good link with more info:

Warfare Incorporated supports both the 1.3 and 1.4 Widcomm bluetooth stacks, and this update will upgrade your device to Widcomm bluetooth stack version 1.3.1.4.

Thanks.

I tried both the rom update an dthe bluetooth update..the rom update(1st search result on google) seemed to be useless and even hard resetted my pocketpc, but a restore later I installed the bluetooth update, and it works great :D I can enter the bluetooth hosting mode now..I just need to try it on my friend's ipaq to be able to start playing. Thanks for the help!
