I'd like your input on this original forum game I've been working on. It doesn't require too many players: 2-4 players max.
To keep up with the theme of WI, I've decided to call it "Corporate Espionage".
There are TWO sides to this game: the spies and the security guards. The spies have to complete the mission objective in a given amount of time, and the guards have to stop the spies.
This game is not at all like Mafia; it is more like chess played simultaneously: the spies and the guards both select an action to perform during each phase.
Actions so far include:
MOVE (move to an adjacent sector)
USE ITEM
HIDE (for spies)
STUN (for spies)
RECON (for spies)
SEARCH (for guards)
Moving is pretty self explanatory.
Spies can choose to HIDE in their current sector (making them immune to SEARCH)
Spies can choose to STUN a guard in their current sector (breaking free if a guard SEARCHES). While stunned, a guard cannot perform any action for the next phase.
Spies can choose to RECON an adjacent sector to see what's there. Be careful, as this leaves you very open!
Guards can choose to SEARCH their current sector (preventing any spy from MOVING into the sector)
COMBAT ACTIONS:
SPIES:
If a guard SEARCHES, you are safe with STUN/HIDE
If a guard MOVES, you are safe with HIDE/MOVE
GUARDS:
If a spy MOVES, you can kill him with SEARCH.
There is no penalty if a spy and a guard move into the same sector.
If a spy moves into a sector in which a guard is SEARCHING, you will stay in your current sector; however, the guard will be alerted to your position.
If a guard moves into a sector in which a spy is HIDING, there is no penalty.
If a guard moves into a sector in which a spy is doing RECON, the spy will be killed.
This game will also feature MAPS. For example:
Adjacent rooms are rooms which are connected via the grey lines. For example, a player in sector 3 can move to H4 and 1, but not to Key.
Red lines are LOCKED doors. They can only be opened with a key/lockpick.
I am open to suggestions! Please voice your opinions on how to make this forum game more accessible/balanced.
Spies will never know the location of the guards, unless one is in the same room as them or if a spy used a special item.
Guards will never know the location of a spy, unless they use a special item / get alerted.
