I know some of you (especially N) want to get the game more popular again, what if all of us combine are best respective maps into a greatest hit pack?

Off the top of my head I can think of theoretically:
Grains of Glory (Nate)
Laser Tag (Trine)
Party Mix (Law)
Blast Through or Unlimited Budget (Galm)
Industrial Zone (T-33 Lib)

Just something like this among other things, of course i would need the other map makers consent.

Also i apologize for forgetting some of you I'm pretty tired and its just an idea

Please post your responses![/img]

Everyone want to get the game more active, just some of us are trying harder to make something happen ;)

Just a little bit ago, I may have supported this idea. Now, I'd say no. I like the idea, but it could cause issues. First off, if the map creator wanted to edit their map, they'd have to edit it in two places and, unless they are a mission sharing mod, they would have to go through the person who posts the combined map pack. Also, players could get duplicate copies of maps on their devices.
Maybe we could have a list of so,e of the great maps and have links to the packs. That way players could see what some good maps are and download them if they don't already have them.

Also, I thought there was a rule about not having duplicate maps (I thought... I can't quickly find it so I may be wrong).

Lol i was just messin with u in the first part N

Maybe the makers could withdraw the map from its original map pack? And then in its description make a link to the packs from the individual map makers? I would be fine with that honestly, we could all just release big hit packs every once in a while or something.

That may cause some players to get confused if maps just stop working and they don't know that they were moved. Most players don't check the forums often, and hardly anyone reads the mission sharing topics for map updates.

I think we should find some way of figuring out the 15 most played add-on maps. We could then collate the maps into one pack and perhaps alter the name of each map slightly - so that people know what pack it's from. We would have some duplicates, but if we can get this pack to be used by all players then most players will have access to the best maps and will be more likely to play.

I'm not sure how many of the map makers for the 15 maps are active. So I suggest that we give them credit, don't ask consent, and remove their map(s) if they lay a complaint - otherwise they are okay with it or just don't care as they aren't active.

It would be awesome if the finalised version of the pack could be placed into the default maps category of the game.

Can Scott see stuff like that?

It would be hard to get everyone do download it though. I could create one of the maps on my old ipod and let it sit in one of the alternate rooms for a week so people could join and download.

I don't see why any map author wouldn't want their mission being in a pack which is proclaimed to have the best maps in it.

So do u disagree with the maps above law (idk if u know them all N)
They were all pretty massive hits but newer players dont know about them, shouldn't we include maps like that.
Honestly i dont like alot of newer maps as much.

Industrial Zone is the only one I don't know.

We totally need to get the new players playing the old maps. I'm new (compared to you galm and law) but I'm old enough to remember some of those maps. I miss the great maps getting played.

Everybody has their own preferences. The only way to unbiasedly select the most popular maps is to look at the actual statistics of all the maps played over time. I'm unsure of whether this data is actually recorded or not, but it is evident that at least the previous 100 matches are recorded.

It can be any map makers right?

I know Kou has some of the best maps around, especially back in the days.

BoT, BiT and unlimBiT, 1v1 VP, 1v1 Crazy and like the limited money maps like 100k etc... def has to be up there as some of the best maps around and the most played. But not sure if any of these maps are around.

But it's not a bad idea, but i think drawing in the crowds in the first place would be priority.

Some of these maps were deleted I think. A couple of years ago I checked if I had an old copy of 100/200k maps and found that I did, so the 100k 1v1/2v2 & 200k 1v1/2v2 are uploaded here.

I vaguely remember that there was a drug bust map that wasn't co op.

It was called Drug Bust Active. I personally think it was really unfair. Blue and red get 2 andy each to start with and if they lose both one respawns. If they lose the respawned one they are done. So they get 3 andy total. Cyan has all sorts of units. I win every time I play that as cyan (except when I play someone who knows the map very well). I lose a lot when I play as blue or red because if you go south, cyan makes libs come from the top and trap you in the corner. If you go east (from where you start), cyan brings up libs from the bottom and traps you.

Actually, I don't see why we couldn't put a good co op or two into this pack. I've noticed co ops being played a lot more.

Kou without a doubt has the best coops. And those coops have a lot of details in it. So putting coops would help :)

And yeah drug bust active was extremely unbalanced, but so are a lot of wi maps
