Will the mission pack manager ever be built into warfare? It would be more convenient if it did.
And I have noticed a little bug in the pack manager. Sometimes when I exit into the home screen on my zodiac, it fatal resets. Anyone else have this problem? 🖼 image no longer available - Evan |

Built into Warfare, you mean on the PDA? That will never happen.
The Mission Pack Manager has been updated with a fix for that problem. It's in the current download on: http://www.handmark.com/warfare/download.php |

Authoring missions is complex. Not many would choose a PDA over a desktop PC for authoring missions. Given the high effort and low benefit, it is unlikely this will happen.

Oh no no no, I'm sorry. I didn't clarify. I meant the mission pack manager that's already on the pda. The one where you can view a list of the .pdb files for warfare on your handheld, delete them, or beam them.
It comes with the game... will it ever be combined with the actual warfare incorporated application on the handheld, like as an extra button on the main menu? Will it ever happen? |

Ah, got it. Sorry for the confusion. I would like for the mission pack manager to be part of the game. It is on PocketPC. Unfortunately on Palm it is not possible due to how applications and associated data get launched from memory cards. Basically they get copied to main memory, the program is run, then when the program exits the data is freed. However if inside the program some of the data gets freed (a mission pack for example), when the program exits, the launcher tries to free data that has already been freed, which causes a fatal exception. That is why there is a different .prc.

Something that somebody else posted awhile back was regarding the name for the manager. Because apps are sorted by name, it would be nice if the name was Warfare Mision Manager, or WI Mission Pack Manager. That way, it would be located next to WI.

I never get anything like that, My palm hardly ever freezes. Maby the zodiac is not the best gaming thing for you. Or do you not have the latest version of Warfare Incorporated and the mission editor. You can get them from the scottlu link above :)
