Hi. I am a registered user of the Palm version of Warfare. I recently purchased a Toshiba e805 pocketpc. Do I need to buy the game again, or can I cross-upgrade?

Thanks, Michael

You can move your key over. Visit http://www.handmark.com/support for more information.

Do you love your E805? I wish I had one. My uncle has one, and I strongly belive that it's probably the best overall PDA in the entire market. If only Warefare supported 640x480 (hint). And considering that Windows Mobile 2003 SE is coming out (http://news.com.com/2100-1045_3-5175544.html?tag=nefd_top), it'd be a good idea to do it. Thats alot of viewage area on Warfare. Pocket PC owners would be most grateful if an update like this come out.

You can, but apparently it costs $15 to do it. I am not sure I want to pay that much to buy a game I already own. I will have to think about it.

While I haven't gotten my E805 yet (I just ordered it yesterday) I do think that using one of the VGA mode hacks, Warfare already runs in 640x480 mode. You can see a review at:

http://pocketpctools.com/modules.php?name=Review_Portal&file=review&op=Next&revid=2&page=3

which shows a 640x480 screen shot.

Michael, thank you for posting that link! Warfare already runs 640x480, the OS just needs to let it :)

The e805 tells most apps they are running 240x320 and you need a hack to let apps use the full resolution. The new version of the OS will remove the requirement for hacks.

^^^I'm not let this gonna get into a Palm vs Pocket PC flame war, so don't start one. All I'm gonna say is that I used to think that, and when I made the move, I loved it and am never going back. IMO, there's so many more doors on a Pocket PC (especially developer wise because it's easier to develop for) and you can do much more on it. Your loss buddy, but thats all I'm posting. This is a Warefare board, not PDA flame war board. Let's stay on topic.

I was hoping that it wouldn't, but I got an email that said:

Quote:

We offer a 50% off cross-platform upgrade to Warfare, Inc. for Pocket PC for previous users of Warfare, Inc. for PalmOS.

If you know a way I can avoid paying again, please let me know.

Thanks, Michael

I have a zodiac which has warfare registered, but i recently got a 4350. So will we be able to get a version of the game we already bought? :D

Ok, so I've talked to handmark about this and they are reviewing their current policy. It takes some time before they get an answer back to me. I'll ask them again about this shortly.
