No problem. I've seen other forums with this feature, and I figured that this forum should be the same way. It's just a fun idea to enhance the forum. Enjoy moving up the ranks as you post!
P.S. Congrats on 1500 posts, Scott! |

" veteran member " I don't feel like a member of warfare Inc. more of a player. wouldn't a member be more of a adim or mod tittle since they do try to help warfare Inc.
maybe fossil player or something old like ancient since we lasted longer then most so veteran would fit fine but up to your all. since we arnt adims. |

yeah it does suck that Nate can modify his poste rank section. but we can't have our own unique mini tittle. like the clan mebers would have their clan name or member of... . and the rest of the players would have something simple. but it would only work if Nate wanted to be cool or nice to change them. and it's not we be asking Nate to change them all the time. right?

A few changes have been made to the ranks. To begin, this topic has been stickied.
Additionally, I have added "Elite Member" to the list. You must have at least 1337 posts to achieve this rank. You may question why this is such an odd number. For those of you who understand this allusion, I give kudos to you. For those who don't, try Googling it, or just go straight to Wikipedia. Along with that, also added a rank for 1500 posts has been added, and it is titled, "Legendary Member" (based off of lisida's "Legendary Poster"), which entails that you have at least 1500 posts. Finally, the beginner's rank, "New to forum", has been replaced by, "WI Forum Novice". Scott's post has been edited to accommodate for these three changes. Enjoy the new ranks! |

Lols short posts is better than long ones. I pretty sure, not everyone reads everything on long posts.
And my posts are usually on topic to the previous 2-3posts lol. I can write long posts but usually I don't need to explain myself... |

Being a community game, I will set the 2000 rank to "Mythical Spammer" or something along those lines if you three can agree on that a rank ending in "Spammer" isn't offensive. I have been reluctant to set any rank as "Spammer" because it may be offensive to some. |

nate sub and scottlu are the only people who can edit it but. but we could send them a message saying what we want. since its nates great idea that we have little tittles he could make rules on how many times or when we can submit a new tittle. since one day their will be like 30 or more people with 2000 post he can set guide lines. and hopefully not change them like sub did for "clan rules" <--- |

nate an adim came up with this idea.
nate changed his tittle. nate can change anyones tittle if he wants to. nate set up this program or what ever so it change the tittle when a certion amout of post is reached it will automatically change the tittle to the next one as you can see in scottlu post that nate sent to scottlu. when ever nate reaches 1000 post his tittle will not change cause he set it up not to change. like i said in my quote its up to nate to be cool or not |

Wonderer, I like that idea. Unfortunately, administrators must execute the final action, meaning that direct user-performed rank changes are inapplicable. To be clear, the ranks would have to be approved and changed by a forum admin.
This would be a big change, so I'd like to converse with the other admins before implementation. I will have to get back to you on this idea, and I will do so once a decision has been made. |

We have decided to allow custom ranks for users that have 2,000 posts or more. Users are given the option to change their rank once every 500 posts, but this change is not mandatory. For instance, players may change their rank after 2,500 posts, 3,000 posts, and so on. Arrangements for future ranks will not be made; only one request per 500 posts will be accepted. Rank-changes are not accumulative, meaning that a user can not do two rank-changes at 3,000 posts if they opted not to do a rank-change at 2,500 posts. Suggested ranks are an adjective followed by a noun, however, users are very welcome to be creative. Unequivocally, ranks have to abide all basic posting rules (no swearing, being offensive towards others, etcetera).
The default rank for 2,000 posts is "Forum Conqueror". No more ranks after 2,000 will be provided at this time. Users may easily stick with this as their rank if desired. This setup is certainly likely to change over time as the number of users qualifying for custom ranks appreciates. Measures will be taken at that time to ensure that forum admins are not overloaded, and that players continue to receive their rightful support. If you are a forum user with at least 2,000 posts,🖼 image no longer availableme, Sub-Zero, or scottlu to request your custom rank. Thank you! Wonderer it shoudptn be that hard to think of a title that's two words and not long, just don't do anything with antidisestablishmentarianism in it and ull be fine. Nate who would change the titles soonest? Who's most active? You?

Wonderer, I can't give a set number of characters because the main font used on the forum (Verdana) is not monospaced, meaning that about each character has roughly a different width. For instance, the "m" has a far greater width than the "i". If the forum were to use a font like Courier, then I would be able to give you an exact amount of characters to use. Listen to galm, as that post was very helpful. Just collaborate a title for yourself, and we'll go from there. If it doesn't fit, I'll give you suggestions to shorten it.
Galm, Sub and I are most active on the forum right now. I advise PMing one of us to receive your rank. |

Users could, however, state that they are a clan moderator, leader, or member of a specific clan in your rank. Users of course have to actually be what they claim. |

wonderer wrote: i dont now why you quoted me and you since you didnt say we could give false authority in your " guide lines " cool now your adding new guide lines to listen to. That's the simple risk of setting your rank to anything personal or something that may change. You would have to post however many posts that would be required to change your rank again. I'm just throwing out ideas for players to use as their ranks.so what happens if i was leader of " viet pride " and i had 2000 poste and had the tittle " leader of viet pride " then i left viet pride what would happen to the tittle? now you have to add more guide lines good job nate keep adding more until you get it right. thats why you should ask for advice and use it Additionally, impersonating as someone else or someone you aren't is against the basic game rules. Players get infuriated when another player acts as them, therefore, ranks shall not be used as an impersonating strategy. |

Say, if we have forum ranks for most posts, what about forum ranks for most frequent posters?

This topic will not be locked just because it has a few questions that aren't of the highest intellect. Posts may, however, be deleted due to further irrelevance. I want players to be able to ask questions and get their questions answered.

All BBCode does not work for ranks. That includes: bold, italic, colors, quotes, sizes, etc. Reasonably enough, as a 24pt font quote would not be preferable.
Upon researching if BBCode works in ranks, I have discovered that a rank cannot be more than 40 characters. In most cases, however, a rank that uses all 40 characters will be longer than one line. |

Yes it's paid.
"Payed" is a common misspelling or typo for: paid, played, prayed, payer, payee, spayed, paged." Source: http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definitions/payed?cx=partner-pub-0939450753529744%3Av0qd01-tdlq&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=UTF-8&q=payed&sa=Search#906 |

what about the ranks from the game here a link to what they are

sam wrote: what about the ranks from the game here a link to what they are There are twenty-five game ranks, meaning that users would update to a new rank on an average of every eighty posts. Right now, there are eleven ranks, so users rank-up about an average of every 182 posts. This board simply doesn't get enough activity to support twenty-five ranks. Additionally, the game ranks reflect on a company-based system, meaning that new players to the forum could easily get confused over who are highly-ranked people and who are actual authoritative figures. Every rank that has "Miner" or "Mining" in it makes it obvious it's from the game. Unfortunately, all ranks past #11 do not have either of those two key words, meaning that new players becoming misguided as to who to contact would be inevitable.http://www.warfareincorporated.com/xyzzy/viewtopic.php?p=3731#3731 However, a vehicle/human/structure rank system may be implemented in the future. For example, users would start off perhaps as "Eagle", possibly have "Rocket Trooper" as one of the middle ranks, and end with "Headquarters". This is just an idea and may be forgotten, but the rank system may change to game units at some point in time. |

If you sank below 2,000 and went back up to 2,000, you would not be given the option to receive a new rank. Unfortunately, your post count was not given in the PM you sent me containing your desired rank. It simply states the rank and nothing else.
The important thing to keep in mind is that your rank will not be stripped, even if another post of yours gets deleted. I recommend posting on your "wonderer" account nevertheless. Also, not to be personal, but I am curious why you ceased using that account after your rank became custom. |
