Clan Leaderboard Discussion

Attention all clan members and other players of Warfare Incorporated!

I would like to start a Clan Leaderboard on the forum. This is how it will work.

Each clan will pick 5 members (preferably with high rating) to compete. Every Friday the 5 member's rating will be added together then divided by 5 to get an average rating. That rating will determine where your clan will be placed on the leaderboard.

The index of the forum (main page) where the clans are listed will be the leaderboard. Every Friday, I will move the clans to where they are ranked.

For example:

1. Van Java
2. BiT
3. Nerv

Yes I will add the number in front of the clan so that you can easily see where your clan is ranked at.

Rules:

-Must have atleast 5 members.
-Do not use more than 1 ID per player. (if found that you are using more than one, you will be automatically disqualified and your clan will be listed in last place)
-Each clan will tell me the 5 members they would like to represent.
-After the 5 members are said. You cannot change them until the new cycle which is every Friday when the results have came out. If you don't want to replace any of them with members then just don't tell me anything and I'll assume you want to keep the same 5 members.
-Your account cannot be currently or become banned/quarantined from the leaderboard on the game itself. If it is, then you will have to message scottlu to work something out.


Questions:

Why 5 members?
Some clans don't have very many members so 5 seems like the most appropriate number.

What if my clan doesn't have 5 members?
Your clan will be listed at the very bottom of the list until you can recruit the required amount of members.

**Note** Any questions or concerns please let me know. I want to make this as fun as possible. Hopefully this will help make the clans more active and more players to play more often.

A few questions:

are we fighting other clans?

What if we use all low ranked iDs?

So if viet pride goes up against high ranked clan iD can we fight under different iD so we can atleast match the other clan? We will tell you which iD we are using and mods can tell if we are who we say we are to.

Kinda. You are trying to get your rating as high as possible if you are part of the 5. You aren't creating games and playing each other in maps. Maybe we can incorporate something like that in the near future but for now we will stay with this.

What if we use all low ranked iDs?

The object of it is to have the 5 IDs you pick have as high rating as possible so when the average is figured out, you are higher than the other clan members.

Just type in the account name on in the search in the leaderboard on the app and check to see which accounts are the highest. You can use your top 5 accounts as long as they are not quarantined or banned from the leaderboard.

It's not about getting past another clan on the leaderboard of the game. You can still be ahead of them on the Clan Leaderboard. Just need to have 5 members who have high rating. If someone on the leaderboard of the game has more than 1 account. They have to choose only one of them.

The leader or moderator of each clan need to give me their selected 5 members to represent their clan. As soon as I get a few clans to participate is when it will begin. Friday morning will be the results.

I don't know why these weren't even asked at all and I'm doing it now because I don't think any of the players will do so. Anyway here they are:

*By using our top ids to finally play the clan wars games, will it also affect our "individual ratings" or just the clan wars leader board?

*Is it fair that our clan leader board be based on the average ratings of the members since we don't all start with equal ratings (default of 1500)? What I am trying to say is that since NERV and Viet Pride have more members on the leader board at the moment (mainly because Van Javas are not as active as they are,) Even if we beat them all once or twice, their average will still be much higher than most clans...which brings me to the next question.

*Why not start off equally by enabling only 1 id per person to be used only on clan wars?

*Will there be a certain number of games played allotted per player?

*Will the games be randomly chosen by A.I. to make things fair and more suspenseful and fun.

*Will the 3 minute rule apply?

There are more concerns that need to be addressed but that's for next time. I know for sure that I am one of the players that have been anticipating this feature, but if there are not enough guidelines to finally start the clan wars properly, then my clan and I may make a decision that I'm sure will surprise the most of the WI players. After all, this is all about strategy and fun.

that version of clan wars is still in the planning stages. what we have now is what Sub is saying, we take the average rating off of the current leaderboard for the participating 5 players per clan, and then order the clan list based on that.

No, I have no control over your rating as individuals. That is a whole other system.

Yes that is what we are doing. 1 ID per person. 5 members from each clan. This leaderboard really has nothing to do with the leaderboard of the game. Its all up to your 5 members rating and how they average out.

No way. Just be careful. If you lose and your rating drops, then you may hurt your clans average. But that is part of the fun and the risk of it.

It doesnt matter what games you play. The adding of each clans members ratings will be done manually. This has nothing to do with what games you play or how you play them. As long as you arent score pumping and playing your own clan members to gain points then you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Well atleast this way you can see how your clan is compared to other clans. People become inactive all the time and when that happens their score will drop. If they wish to play one map all the time then thats their choice. It's not going to be perfect but in time it will get better. Let's give it a chance and see how it works out.

Also wonderer I need one more player so I can add your clan. Also Nerv hasn't sent me any members so right now they aren't even participating at the moment.

Even if nerv partipates in this they don't have the required 5members so they will be atthe bottom of the clan leaderboard.

Exactly. Only ONE ID from each player allowed in the clan wars. This way it stays fair and fun for everyone.

What if you made the deadline Thursday's at 11:59 PM, PST (forum time)? That way it's like you're turning in an assignment. You wouldn't turn something in after every assignment (clan) has been graded (assessed for ratings). Just a thought.

maybe you should a a rule for pumping at least something should happen to the clan who is cought pumping.

If it's the whole clan then multiple accounts will have their ratings deducted which will decrease the clans average if the 5 reps are participated in the pumping as well. We aren't going to penalize the whole clan for a couple players pumping. Maybe the clans leader/mod can make a rule that if a player is caught pumping, they will be removed from the clan.

Leaderboard won't die. If I get atleast 3 clans, the Clan Leaderboard will continue. Right now Viet Pride is the ONLY clan participating. The rest of the clans either dont meet the requirements or do not want to participate.

what about bonus points for clan challenges? Lets say if VP challenged VJ, then 2 players from each clan would be chosen. As the challenger VP would choose the first map, if they won then they would get +5 points off of VJ or something (This would be added to the averaged rating). The next map would be chosen by VJ and would give them a chance to win their points back.

Doing this would cause more competition between clans. people probably have a better idea of how to do this than me so feel free to change things that i have said!

well hopfully the maps would be posted so it would give both clans a fighting chance. but taking points off of the van javas if they lose i wouldnt do that cause. being here so long and watchings adim taking off points is not a for sure thing. even trhough its just a matter of subtracting points off of their points it leave a area of messing up. thats why it should just be added.

okay so points would only be added and maps would be chosen before the battles. The bonus points could work as a double or nothing feature after the two maps have been played, a third map would be chosen by the defending clan.

Lol, thats what we do in gears of war 2. But There are 2 rounds, each round, 1 team picks there favorite map. If both teams hit 1-1 then there is a tie breaker round. So the winner team has to win all the rounds for points to be gained xD.

There was a couple issues with the clan representatives that i was given. As soon as I have the official 5 representatives for the 3 clans, I will have the Clans put up on the clan leaderboard.

Not that I have seen yet. Just make sure your representatives are staying active and not sharing accounts. 1 account per player. Also, they arent participating in any other clans representatives. If they are, they will be notified and disqualified.

We got a clan Leaderboard but no clan wars. Basing the score or points on indiviuals' Leaderboard ratings is by far one of the stupidest ideas ever. For example, let's say VP clan's reps average 2500 and TDS clan's average is 1500. If every single one of TDS reps beats TDS reps 3 out 3, VP will still be way ahead of TDS since ranking is based on the individual Leaderboard's ratings and not an actual Clan ratings. You know, clan's wins vs opponent and clan rank etc etc.

Agreed. Also, I think a 2vs2 shows how well clans can prepare strategies, organize, and cooperate to reach a victory. Individual player rating averages are for sure not the best way to rate an entire clan. Some of us play FFAs and get double teammed, cuz they go gunning for the top player to knock them out first. Why should other clans benefit from another clans member rating dropping like that?

On that note, i'm ready to get the clan wars/tournament/whatever up and going. My tournament thread was meant to be a jump-off point where we can brain storm ideas and get it rolling.

if you really want that then drop your clan out of subs clan board. until the adim gives us what we want since the whole point is about fighting each other and not points

Hmmmm you can't really say that much bout NERV lol. Most of NERV members pwn at unlim maps but were only average at mining.

NERV didn't play VP because in a mining map the chances of a win is low. But on the other hand VP never tried playing NERV in an unlim map either.


We were just skilled at two different styles of maps. And we could never settle for a agreed map

I was maybe thinking of creating a bracket of who will fight who from the clans. You give me names that you would like to participate and I will create the bracket.

I could make it 2v2 or 1v1, or whichever you think is better. There will be deadlines also.

If we DO this, the adding of ratings like we are doing now, will be no longer.

Ill be considering all ideas.

Ok. 5 players rep one clan. They get put into a drawing and whoever is drawn out is their opponent. That starts the preliminary rounds. Then it comes down to a torunament style game where if you lose then your out and it goes until either 1 clan has the most members left or there is only one player left

Also, the average ratings have been updated. Probably the last time. I am hoping to get this tournament going soon. As soon as we have a good rough draft of rules, I will make a bracket with 1v1 and see how it goes. If it goes smoothly then possibly move to 2v2.

Delta Force has entered into the Clan Leaderboard. Unfortunately, there are clans that need to fix their representatives to continue it. I have edited all the clans representatives to show who needs to be either replaced or become active again. If you have nothing next to your name then you are ok.

4 could work, but just for future's sake if we go below that (say to 3) then I think that's too low. One reason being that we should keep an incentive for clans that don't have 4 or 5 members to reach that point and so more clans grow and more participate on the Clan Leaderboard.
