I'm assuming that the cut scene images are in the graphic database, and we can't add our own. So, can we have a list of the exisitng image names so we can use them?

Adding to crakerz's point can we have some new cut scene and character images to build the missions.

It would add an exciting new twist to the storys  !!

I will compile that list for you. I can also think about how we'd release the tools that will allow you to create your own images.

Please also forward to me, so that it can be added to the FAQ and Docs

Is this list and tools posted in this forum or do I have to request them?

They are not posted. I will look into this once the mission editor ships (very soon now).

Scott,

Have you had a chance to compile a list of the art work?

Here are the available cut scene images:

andyjana.rbm
desertforbox.rbm
explosion.rbm
galaxite.rbm
monolith.rbm
orbitshot4.rbm
replicator.rbm

To use, use the Cut Scene action, then in the text for the cut scene do this (for example):

<img explosion.rbm>What a cool explosion!

In one Cut Scene action you can put multiple img tags and it'll know to show each in its own form.

As far as making custom cut scene images, the primary issue is that all art is resolution and color depth dependent. For example, here are the databases that get shipped with the game:

htdata824.pdb (320 and above, color)
htdata820.pdb (240 and above, color)
htdata816.pdb (160 and above, color)
htdata416.pdb (160 and above, grayscale)

To make custom cut scenes you'd need to do the same. If anyone is really interested in doing this, let me know and I'll consider what safe and sane tools are required (our tools for doing it currently aren't user friendly).

Hey I want to give it a try! I am definitely no artist but I have friends who are good. I want to put their pics in my campaign :D
If there's something we need to convert to from a .bmp to a .rbm, where would it be?

I would also be interested in giving this a try. It would allow me the ability to kind of personalize my missions.
