Ah - so it begins :)

Ok all you lucky Beta Testers - here's some ideas:

1. Tower Defense - Have enemys creep along a line, and give the player tons of nrg and money and he should try to kill the enemys with towers, you can also maze (hell, i dunno how to do that.)

2. People Defense - Think Enfo's from WCIII, have people, like really pumped up people, stand in the way of the road and shoot down enemys

3. Battle of Helm's Deep - Give the AI, or another player, a lot of money and tons of vehicle depots and human resources, and let them pump soldiers into a fortress where the other player has to defend against them.

4. CTF - Capture the flag! Have two teams assault each other and try to steal or touch some object to get point

5. Racing! Have eagle scouts run around roads and touch part of a replicator or something to win

Have fun! Have some nice maps out for us... If anyone has any other ideas, contribute please!

EDIT: Bwaahahah! Make a speed test, put about 500 units on map (if the devs didnt put a cap in), and test it on diff devices to see if there is any lag. Have fun with it, make map viruzes, test the caps :) beta testing = hardcore.

Thanks, Heko, for getting the ball rolling - I think a discussion of ideas might get us thinking. Any other thoughts out there?

ie - what makes a fun mission?
- what did you enjoy the most?

2. Yes, it will be interesting to see the capabilities/limits of the editor...
we'll go from there.

I think a mission should have a good storyline - and it should be easy.

Amen to the story line! I tried to push that for 2 years with the Kyle's Quest guys...

"Easy" - well, that's a matter of tastes. I think a good level should have a series of challenges, that keeps "pulling" the player forward.
As far as difficulty, I actually prefer it hard enough that I go in, scout, get killed, start over. Maybe do that 2-3 times a level.

Just me...

Don't worry - I know how to make hard levels :D

I actually made the first multiplayer campaign for starcraft (and only that I know about). No one played it though because it also had full sound, which made some rather long downloads. Anyhow it was bitchin hard. Now if anyone would give me the beta I'd be ready to go, but I sent my email 2-3 days after the announcement, and I still haven't heard a goddamned thing about whether I've been accepted or not.

Have you still not been accepted into the beta program? I thought I added everyone who requested enrollment. With this email bug that is flying around the web I may have recieved a bounce that actually was a bounce, but anyone who has not been added that wanted to be added should check to see if they can actually access the forum. If not then reapply and I will attempt to figure out what went wrong.

Hey claxbane, yeah I just got your email, thanks a lot for taking the time. Also, in my last post, I did not mean to sound angry at all if that's how it came through (on rereading I saw it had a tone of voice I was not trying for).

"I thought I added everyone who requested enrollment. "

Claxbane, would that include the level editor?
I would love to do that, and haven't been accepted yet.

I've made levels before... (am I whining?)(would it help?)

That might have had something to do with it. No the truth is that I tried to add everyone interested as quickly as possible but there were so darn many that I made some mistakes along the way.
I should mention that anyone who doesn't get added within 4 days of applying should feel free to send me an email reminding me they would like to be included.
