OFFICIAL CLAN BOARD SIGNUP HERE

Several clans have requested that forums for clans be created (each clan gets a forum). I think this is a good idea to try out. I'm thinking we'd create a separate section called "Clans" or something, and each clan that wants to sign up would get a discussion board on the forum.

Other users of the board could read and post in the clan board, however the mod is a member of that clan. The clan needs to elect who is the mod (one mod per board). The mod doesn't need to be the clan leader, just a member of the clan.

I have a couple requirements:

- The forum posting rules MUST be followed. No swearing, being offensive to others, etc allowed.
- Clan moderators cannot edit the posts of other players. They can delete posts, but not edit the posts of others.
- The clan board name must be completely original. Your clan may not have the same name as any clan in the history of Warfare Incorporated. You will be notified if such an incidence occurs, so you don't have to track down every clan ever made.
- In order to revive or use the name of an inactive/past clan, you must receive permission from the last leader of the clan before it went inactive. Leaders of inactive clans can revive them at any time, but you must put in effort to make the clan active again.

Anyway, please post here for the clans that want to sign up. Post what you want the clan name to be (including cap letters), who the clan leader is, and who you want the mod to be. Please agree with your other clan members on these things ahead of time.

Once you've elected a mod, I'll listen to that mod for changes to that clan's settings. The leader or mod can post an announcement in that clan's discussion forum on who the clan members are, rules of the clan, how to join, etc.

If the clan board is silent for awhile (several weeks), it'll get mothballed.

Let me know if you have any other ideas / suggestions.

That's easy, either he leaves a next of kin or the clan appoints their own leader.

For right now Scott is only allowing 1 moderator per clan page. I know, I would have kilik as a mod for the OutLaws as well, but there can only be 1 for the time being. Once clans expand there might be more.

In my opinion when clan wars start up many clans will pop up for a short while, but as it progresses. The smaller clans will fade away and it's members join clans that are larger and better

Sam, if you would rather join a map clan instead of making one, I could talk to galm, Lawrence, and trine, and see if they would accept you as the newest B.E.TA. member. However we could use the competition, so it is up to you. I would just like to remind you of that option.

If more map making clan emerge, there should be a separate section for them, or at the very least move them to the Mission Authoring section, instead of the Clans section.

Your clan page has been setup. You seemed to be aiming more for a clan than a club, so that's where I placed the forum. I can always convert a clan board into a club board and vise-versa.

The main difference between clubs and clans is competition. Whereas a clan is a competitive group of people, a club is a non-competitive group of people.

Administrators are only required for creating the clan board and assigning the clan board moderator. After the initial setup, running the clan is up to the leader and moderator, as long as it follows the forum rules and clan rules. I advise you to take a look at other clan boards, and model your boards after others'. Pieces to note are topics such as a member-list and requirements.

Who would you like to be the moderator for this clan? Every clan board needs a moderator; it can be the leader as well.

Yes, you are right; Alkaline should currently reside at the top of the clan list. Organizing clans must be done manually, so I just set the board up without moving it up the list. Alkaline is now in its proper place.

you have to go around and ask them if they want to join and to know that they are a real member ask them to post at least once on your clan page

I don't recall there ever being a limit on the number of members a player must have before their clan can be created. Perhaps you can provide a link for me? I know this has been discussed before, but I don't believe it has ever been implemented.

Upon request, the two following rules have been added to clan signup:

- The clan board name must be completely original. Your clan may not have the same name as any clan in the history of Warfare Incorporated. You will be notified if such an incidence occurs, so you don't have to track down every clan ever made.
- In order to revive or use the name of an inactive/past clan, you must receive permission from the last leader of the clan before it went inactive. Leaders of inactive clans can revive them at any time, but you must put in effort to make the clan active again.

The vast majority of players and clans will not be affected by these rules, but they have been added to remove confusion.

The two rules listed in my post were added to the original post of this topic (the one by scottlu on the first page), shortly before I posted. I posted simply to notify the community of the rule additions.
