help with importing your custom maps to ipod touch...

I cant figure out how you import your custom maps from your computer to the ipod. I know how get ones off of the internet straight to the ipod, but i cant figure this out. Any help?

does that apply to the ipod touch too? I dont know what a custom url is or how to use it...
