Are there any plans to make a version for the iPhone? Cause this game rocked on my TX and I think it could rock on an iPhone!

If you guys don't want to deal with the whole hacking thing (as that is the only way to install 3rd party software right now), an SDK is scheduled to come out in Feburary

There is no possible way I'd ever be able to save up for one of those fancy devices.

But getting back on topic - awesome!

that would be awesome, but only if the palm players could play with the thousands of new iphone players. i like my clie just fine. pants have four pockets for a reason and i refuse to bundle any more of my electronics.

I'm thinking about it and other ideas. I could use some feedback on what would be fun and most useful. For starters I want to create the lobby to make multiplayer easier to start, then we'll see what's next from there (taking feedback into account from you and others on the forum).

It would be a lot easier to have some remote server actually host the games too, because PDA's are always hard to set up with the networking, and I'm sure iPhones wont be too keen on it either... besides, it will be faster, I'm thinking.

This will get fixed too. No more firewall rule editting for multiplayer.

 Wow! I found this link in my favorites and decided to revisit after a couple of years and I see this? What great news!

Really Dumb Question - if it works on the iPhone will it work on the iPod Touch?

If so, I might just have to blow some dust off the old mission editor! (provided I can talk my wife into letting me use her iPod. Heh.)

Absolutely it will work on the iPod Touch.

I'm also thinking about putting in wireless mission downloading so it'll be a snap for players to download and play the mission packs you guys have made.

Real quick question,

Do dyou think this will spark interest in WI? I bought the game and I'm all 'eh'. I haven't had a chance to play anyone on the internet. I hope this will spark interest in it again. Hopefully, this will spark an interest of making a main server to keep track of games.

Is there any sort of time frame that you had in mind for all of this to happen? I know it takes time, just curious if there is any sort of expected date of release.

I really loved WI and have played through it multiple times. I don't carry a Palm any more after upgrading to an iPhone. When I checked the forum hoping to hear about an iPhone port, I wasn't expecting good news. I was pleasantly surprised. Any chance of it coming out through the sdk, or will iPhone users have to hack their iPhones?

No iPhone hacks required - it's being built with the "official SDK" now that the official SDK is available, so it will run on any iPhone or iPod Touch. I'll post a video showing it off in the near future :)

It's coming along nicely. In the near future I'll post an official call for beta testers.

I've been googling "RTS for iphone" for the last couple of months now... Until now I've just been looking on the highest listed links. I am now glad I scrolled down.. to see this incredible RTS being developed for the iPhone! I just can't wait! Are there any updates on the development?

I will definitely sign up for the beta 8)

Hey scottlu; as you can see I created an account on your forums years ago, back when I played Warfare Inc on my Palm TX.

I must tell you right now that your game is the ONLY reason I half regret selling my TX, and finding out you're porting it for the iPhone is like a Christmas gift came early this year.

No doubt you know by now that Apple is trying (aggressively) to push the iPhone and the iPod touch as legitimate alternatives to the PSP and the DS. Games such as Warfare Inc are EXACTLY what they need to prove the masses that their phone/mp3 player can do gaming just as well (if not better) as the competition' consoles.

I trust that you will put in this version of the game the same amount of quality that could be found in the Palm OS version. That is to say, I will buy your game day ONE, and I will personally tell all my iPhone/touch owning friends about it. As a matter of fact, I happen to have a consideraly large website (www.hbdia.com) in which I usually talk about gadgets and games. Rest assure I'll make your game known to a lot of people who would otherwise not hear about it.

I have great hopes for this game! Warfare Inc could make the iPhone or the iPod touch THE gaming console for the RTS fans.

Make it good and we'll buy it, Scott ;)
