If there were a master list of internet games, i think this game could get a fresh surge of players.

It woilnt be too hard to put an xml file on a server that lists games being hosted.

Seriously, they need a master list or a program to access a list of people hosting. Maybe even a chatroom. I wonder if handmark even reads htese forums anymore?

Yeah, the makers were throwing this idea around a long time ago, but it never really happened...

...it would have helped >.<

I don't know, but I doubt it. The Palm isn't a very capable device, and the iPhone is already more popular and only growing, so I can't really see much value in trying to develop both platforms, which would probably increase development time by a lot. The iPhone is really the ideal platform for serious games.

Palm devices, and in a report I read recently, even PSP, is being hurt by iphone's success. I mean think about it, why pay $200 for an organizer, gaming device, or phone, when you can buy a device that can do all of these together at the same price and do them well?

Okay, not to start an argument, but doesn't that seem a little pompous? I understand that it's a very capable device, but with Apple's strict control, a lot of "serious" gamers are definitely second guessing it as a gaming device.

And the palm OS itself was very capable, just not the easiest to program on, which caused programmers to turn more toward PPC. Yet, something's urking at me that you've never owned a palm. I may be wrong and in reality, you can say whatever you want here and it makes no difference since we can't prove anything.

If you've got some reported specs to go with that, then I'm definitely all ears. However, "ideal", "serious", this doesn't quite convince me.

peace

EDIT:
Sorry. I knew that this wave of new pda/smartphone users would bring a lot of Apple's generally unfamiliar users (not particularly you) to technology that's been around since the days of the Newton, but I guess that I just wasn't ready for it. I realize that this may be a bit arrogant of me, but it's been eating at me for a while.

I used to program Palm OS, and it was very easy. The documentation and resources were excellent compared to the iphone.

Of course, for me, iphone programming was easy because I had palm os programming under my belt. But I still think Palm OS was an amazing device.
