sorry, but encription has lttle or nothing to do with it. I use wpa-psk/tkip, that's hard to encript and harder to decript. wep is definately not the issue. try turning off 'conserve power' in the wi-fi preferences

I know this from personal experience. You can ask alfex, the first 2 games I played against him, I was lagging like crazy, I then tuwned off conserve power, & it worked great

I'd rather have a power drain than a laggy connection, because you can just charge while you're playing.
