What are the requirements for internet multiplayer games, is there any way to play with my Tungsten E?

Tungsten E would not be a good choice for online play. Fist, it has a slower processer, which might cause it to lag when playing against other faster devices (IE. Zire 72, Tungsten C, Livedrive, etc). Also its Palm OS version is 5.2 instead of 5.2.8 and Palmone dosn't offer any upgrades, so that might have some issues with online play, but I am not 100 percent sure. What you can do is use Softick PPP <To get it go to http://www.softick.com/ppp . I believe that that is the correct website> and connect to your computer via USB and force the PPP (Point to Point Protocal) connection to your computer's internet to play online. You will also need version 1.2 of Warfare Incorporated, and your computer needs to be constantly connected to the internet when playing online.
-Softick PPP has never worked for my zire 72, so I switched to using a SD Wi-Fi card (Don't make the same decision, it freezes halfway through the game and eats up battery power). Softick has a 30 day trial evaluation period and the full version is like $29.95 USD (US Dollar) I believe. Good luck with multiplayer (Try and beat verdagon for all of us)!!! |

Hello guys.
I just started playing WI today. How do I connect to play multiplayer over the internet? I dloaded Softick PPP but I didn't really understand how to use that. I think I managed to connect the palm to my cable on the Network option on Preferences, but I don't think I got internet access. Help me out here |

Unfortunatly, I don't know how to do that - you might want to ask Hudra. He has sucessfully gotten it to work on a zire 31. I've never gotten it to work on my zire 72.

once I get the T5, will I need to buy anything for online play? (bluetooth access point, wi-fi hotspot) I'm hopeing that some friends will validate their pda's for me so I can get a T5. I'll probably get it around christmas.
P.S. I will try to beat verdagon, or at least put up a fight |

w/ a WiFi card, you need a router that supports wifi.

The Omega,
Sure. But it is very slow and you can only JOIN. Just tap in the IP number of person HOSTing and you can start playing. A GPRS device can never HOST however. You can only JOIN a game being HOSTed by a PC with port 2222 open. |

P. Kitty,
Some DSL or cable routers have WiFi built in or can be upgraded with a card installed. $100 Some routers just have an Ethernet plug on the back that plugs into your existing wired (Ethernet) network. $35-85 Bluetooth (BT) routers only work with an existing wired network. They have an ethernet plug on the back that you plug into your Ethernet network. $75-125. There is no such animal, that I know of, that is a router with BT. No HOSTing with BT. Softick is only useful for connecting a non wireless Palm to the Internet through your desktop computer PC). You need to tell the desktop PC to allow the Palm to share the connection with the desktop PC. That is where the confusion starts. I use to use both WiFi and BT to play WI games online. No more HOSTing. Need more participation. Email for game.
It's too bad, alfex! When you did host, was there even anyone there within the last couple months? |

Omega,
When you start WI, the version number appears in the lower right hand corner. If it says v1.2, then you have the latest version. Just download the new version onto your phone via the ActiveSync from this web site. http://www.warfareincorporated.com/download.php To play a multiplayer game (MP), just tap the button on the opening screen of WI titled "PLAY MULITIPLAYER". If phone is in ActiveSync cradle, then skip to next step (Tap Specify). If not in cradle, then I assume you have a data service plan with your cell phone. This is known as GPRS on a GSM type phone (Cingular or T-Mobile). Go to next step. Now tap NETWORK button. Tap SPECIFY Tap in the IP number of a HOSTing player (206.124.153.196) . Don't forget to put in periods between the numbers where needed. Tap OK and device will seach for the HOST. You should see "Al Felker's game" come up on your screen. Tap JOIN You should see your device name under PLAYERS. Tap READY and the HOST will then tap START and game will begin. Good luck. [/url] |

e-mail the ppl you bought it from and it might work, also try e-mailing handmark (support@handmark.com).
Is there a way to wirelessly (let's pretend I have a T|5)-to my uncle's PC without installing palm desktop? |

T|5 has Bluetooth (BT) only. I assume you have a WiFi network in your home? Ethernet network is a wired network protocol in a home.
You can connect to the Internet two ways. Easy: Get a BT router($75-100) for your existing Ethernet network. Hard: Add a BT dongle($15-25) to a PC already on the network. Then configure a serial port to work with the BT dongle to let you get on the Internet through the PC. This is fairly complicated to configure. There are various threads on WI forum about how to do this. Easy but not good solution: Add a WiFi card to T5 and join existing WiFi network in your home. T|5 may not handle processing both WI game and WiFi processing with SD card. BT is much better solution for T|5 since it is built in to device. You cannot HOST a game with BT however. Hope this helps, |

Yes. Agreed. I have 3 T|C and used to use them all the time for playing on-line.

I'm not rich but if I actully saved, I'd buy one or two or three (no I wouldn't, who am I kidding), but T|5 and T|X sound better, four words, 320*320 vs. 320*480

let me think... 22*4*4+15*6*4+22*4*4=800, that's about how much I'd make by reffing six games u15 games every saturday, 4 women's league games every friday night and 4 co-ed games every sunday, but if they were centers instead of lines, 35*4*4+25*6*4+35*4*4=1720, but I'd be working VERY hard because I'd have to do all my hw at school and 16 games a week, I never noticed howmuch I COULD make in a month

Hey I'm sort of new to this whole game. I got an itouch and I've been hearing that there will be multiplayer coming soon for the touch. I've also heard that there's a beta version that some people are aloud to try out. Does anyone know how?

You can play mulitplayer with the iTouch when the upgrade is released in the next few days or weeks. Depends on beta testing progress.
