I have a 512MB expansion card, but Warefare Inc. seems to use its own installer where I never get a chance to tell it the destination.

After it installs to the default location of the device's RAM (which is very small... starts at 32MB and I have very little left), I try to Copy the app to the 512MB RAM card, but it says it is copy protected and I cannot copy it.

Is there a way to get Warefare Inc. installed on my 512MB ram? If not, can I make a request that future versions/patches have an option to simply target the RAM card instead of the devices memory? It's a huge app that's not critical to my dail use of the Treo 650, hence I like to keep "extras" and games on the 512MB if possible, especially given the low memory on the device.

You can definitely run Warfare from the SD card... I have done it myself on more than one device including the Treo 650, but watch out... there is one file that will install itself in it's ram when you run the game. So after the game is over you need to delete that file....

So..... run the install program for Warfare.
Open the Palm Quick Install App which is probably on your desktop.
Drag the Warfare files from the top part of the screen (palm memory) to the bottom part of the screen (SD card memory). They will be installed on the SD card.

Run the game as normal from the SD card. After the game is over you will need to delete the file htsfx_.pdb which the game will have installed into your Treo RAM. It will still be on your SD card.

Hope this helps.

Much thanks CleverKathy.... I'll give that a try once I get the latest version and an updated CD key. Thanks again for the fast help! -t

I tried to load it on to my card from the Quick install, but it does not show up after syncing. I use Fileprog and it looks like the Launcher directory is locked. It reverts to the root directory when I try to see what is in the launcher directory.

cleverkathy- just wanted to report back that I was able to get it working off the SD card. I think the big key was upgrading to the latest version. I had another issue posted in another message relating to loosing stylus control after my Treo 650 would sleep. After upgrading to the latest version, I was able to not only run it off the SD card, but it sleeps and wakes up fine - stylus still functioning, and I can exit/start back up and all.

Thanks again for your great support and suggestions!

That's great, T9. Glad to hear it works. I must get the latest version now for my 650, though I still play WI with my Tungsten C because of the wifi. Have you tried any multiplayer games using the bluetooth? Good luck and IM either Alfex or me if you want to try multiplayer once you get on the internet with your bluetooth. Alfex usually hosts games on Monday night and at other times by request.
