I just purchased a Dell Axim X50v and started playing Warfare but it is extremely slow. I also have a Dell Axim X30 that doesn't slow down at all. They both have the same 624MHz processor but the X50v justs runs slower than the X30. The only thing that I can think of is that the VGA screen slows it down. Also, when will a new version of Warfare be released that takes advantage of the 640x480 screen resolution of Windows Mobile?

I already tried that and it didn't help much at all. It just doesn't make since that the X50v is so much slower than the X30.

HamilSt,

I've seen the same problem on my x50v. Something appears to be amiss with the x50v's original GAPI software. Dell has an update to the x50v ROM that supposedly includes GAPI improvements. I haven't tried it but you can download it from here:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/format.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=PDA_AXIM_X50&os=PPCA&osl=en&deviceid=7464&devlib=7&category=7&releaseid=R98710

There is also a hacked GAPI that made a huge difference for me. Here's a discussion thread regarding it: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-2660.html

I'd try the ROM update first if I were you. Let us know how it works!
