Posted: Sat May 14, 2005 9:30 am Post subject: Proposal: Warfare inc DS |
I got thinking a little about this, all of us know how much Warfare rocks on handheld systems, and using the touch screen on your PDA is awesome. So, I know it isn't just to make the Warfare game into DS system just like that but I know many, many people out there (just as I would) be really interested in that title for the Nintendo DS, to make a REAL rts for it, AoE2 is gonna suck we all know that, and Warfare uses graphics and things like that the DS would easily handle, as long it's the same game.
Just my proposal, I know if handmark would coperate with Nintendo or something doing this I would be the first one who bought it and diffently not the last!
Don't get pissed on me if I said something 100% idiotic here but I would really love seeing some real nice RTS for the NDS system, Myself I got one and so far I've seen some multiplayer through Wi-Fi would be possible in a close future.
Please comment this, I want to hear if anyone think this is a good idea.
Thanks Handmark for doing this Superb RTS game for PDA's ya people are ma gods ^_^

If it was on DS, there would probably be some sort of lawsuite. Handmark is not a Nintendo certified company, therefore if handmark made a DS game, they would get sewed and loose ! They would have to buy a contract for a ton of money to be certified. Also, how would you play multiplayer missions on DS? It has no infared or Wi-Fi. Hand mark would have to develop some sort of USB multiplayer, for DS.

The news is that DS is compatible to WiFi connection, IGN and Nintendo has formed a partnership. IGN's Gamespy technology will make DS able to connect to local Wi-Fi connection just like all we PDA players do on our devices. I dunno how to make new maps tho but that could also give a good use of the touch screen, I don't think that would be impossible, but yeah nothing is free I know that already.
Nintendo DS will in the end of the summer hopefully get connection with Wi-Fi with some new compatible games like Animal crossing, and this is not a scam this is both news on Gamespot, and the Gamespy.com ofcourse.
I know this is just an idea from someone outside Handmakr, just a porposal, but I also got a kinda idea how the displays would be like even if it might be messy:
On the top screen you have the ammount of money, energy and map, to scroll the map you use the anolog 'thing' (The + controls ) and if you are under attack or a new unit is ready you press either the L or R button to scroll to that current location.
The Touchscreen is where the whole unit control is, you have the units and you can select and move them and build structures and everything like that.
This is just my idea...

You know, DS use bluetooth connection right now and will later this year work fine with WiFi so that's not a problem.
And I mean like a temporary Nintendo partership, but I don't have so much an idea about that...

If Handmark or another company were to form a partnership with Nintendo(like that will ever happen) I just wanted to know what they would have to work with

Or, make something where you have a cord that goes from the zodiac to the DS, and when you tap or key, the DS will send it to the zodiac... and the zodiac's screen can be projected onto the DS.
Problem solved.
