Dont know if anyone has played, heard, or seen the astraware game called "Bejeweled 2" but for those that has played it have you noticed when hitting the pause button on the left side of screen a menu pops out with options. Why not do this enhancement with the minimap on Warfare Inc.? When playing(battleing) you have the whole screen to look at and when you want to look at map just hit the tab(named "map")button and a transparent animated map will pop up and when doing so it can either pause the game for user to look thru it or just have it visible for your convenience(there is an added option of having the map pause the game or continue playing when popped). Just thought I might put in this suggestion. And just for kick and giggles you think it would be a nice feature on where the map will pop out from(top left corner, top right corner...etc)?

Yes, i like that ideas of transparency...
But i dont think it should pause the game, it should just be a transparent map which is show and hideable. But for those who want to pause while navigating you could add an option to pause the game while the map is shown, which is accessable from the options menu.
The minimap should be transparent so you could see whats behind but not click on the units behind the map, just on the map to navigate.
If you make a selection and the selection rect goes behind the minimap(if you move the stylus over the map while selecting) the map should temporaritly get a very high transparency so ya see your selected units through it.
the map's transparency should switch to 0% (so you can't see anything trough it) while you press the stylus on the map(while youre navigating) and when you release it the map gets half or quarter transparent.
(It shouldnt be so transparent you can't see your units on the minimap while you are not dragging on it...
Or perhaps the transparency value is editable in the options screen)
There should be a small button like the "menu" button which you press and the map is shown, you press it again and the map gets hidden again.
(Perhaps it could kinda roll up like the windows start menu.)
If you make a _small_ button(e.g. in the lower right corner), you would also have more space for the energy bar(as the map is above the bottom bar) cause i can't see its end when i build many structures and powerplants.
It also would be nice to implement something like a zoom function...
perhaps simply if you drag the border of the minimap so the map gets smaller and therefore it needs a higher zoom factor.
Please, spiffcode, build version 1.3 out of this ideas! you see, except perhaps the last idea whith the zoom it wouldnt take much time to write the needed code.

i thing that a "Show-mini-map" button will be the best idea.
