Im currently working on a defense map closer to Starcraft standards if anyone could offer to help out, I'm very skilled with triggers from Starcraft experience, and while M isn't as capable, I'm confident I can make every event work. So if aanyone wants to work on this with me, reply here. The map is going to have a starter, so the user starts when he's ready. You gain minerals for a certain amount of kills and you can buy 4 different levels of infantry to boost your defense. The enemies will come from the top of the map and if they get to the bottom, you lose. Email me at jokr60@yahoo.com or reply here.

It seems you're thinking of a variation of goblin_merchant's tower defense. You can't do the starter thing because in order to do that, you need to be able to remove the "Starter" unit (civilian in sc) but you cant remove in WI

Minerals for kills is going to be very very difficult. You might be able to do a simple system with PVars...

I would volunteer to help, but six letters are keeping me back. s-c-h-o-o-l

Damn schools...

There is a trigger for kills? I don't think there is.

No, I mean its possible to create a system that keeps track of how many kills youve had.

Actually, you cant make a starter. The trigger would look something like this:
Heres the first level

force 1 bring 1 security guard to "startlvl"
Create 5 Eagles for force 2 at "start"
Move all units at "startlvl" to "civ"
Move all units for force 2 at "start" to "end"
Set switch "lvl1"

Level 2 would be comething like this:
force 1 bring 1 security guard to "startlvl"
force 2 command 0 units
"lvl1" is set
create 5 bullpups for force 2 at "start"
Move all units at "startlvl" to "civ"
Move all units for force 2 at "start" to "end"
Set switch "lvl2"

Thats pretty much it. And if that had some bugs you can add a trigger that would be like:

force 2 commands 0 eagle
set switch "lvl1"

So that should work.
Anyone wanna help with it? I have some basic terrain mapping of what i want the map to look like so I need someone to put in some units and some triggers and give me some ideas about anything else to do...

PS:No, I don't want to copy Goblin_Merchant, I think he is a great mapper but his defense map is a little lame. Mine's gonna have more levels, and all around better.

I see what you mean. Like a starter for every level... I thought you meant like something in those great S-shaped maps where you choose the difficulty....

Anyway, I'd volunteer but s c h o o l is hell.

Heheh. Sophomore year WOULD be easy if i had all normal classes but I have two honors classes (it's a hassle) and on top of that, a college night class.

--HONORS Geometry
--Study Hall

Wow... this went from a starcraft-like map to a discussion on school schedules... yes, enough said.
