First, let me give you my question:
How do I change my PPC's local IP address?
Now, let me give you my network's set up.
I have a Cable modem that is connected via ethernet to a Linksys 4-port router/hub combo. This router then connects to 3 computers. My pocket pc connects to my computer via USB.
My computer's local IP address is 192.168.1.100, and the other computers are 192.168.1.101, and 192.168.1.102. My PPC's IP address is 192.168.55.101.
My router only lets me forward ports to the same network address, ie 192.168.1. I need to change my PPC's address to 192.168.1.xxx so that I may forward a port to it and so that I may host multiplayer games over the internet.
Can anyone help?

Usually its 192.168.1.xxx if it's connected directly to the network. I don't think it's possible through the computer..
Alfex would know

Nullifi3d,
Since you are connected by USB to your computer, your PPC does not have its' own IP#. It is using the IP# of the computer that you connected it to i.e. 192.168.1.100.
You must have a WiFi connection between your PPC and your router so that the PPC will get assisgned its' own IP# by the router. Then you can forward the ports to the PPC's IP# as you mentioned.
There might be a way to do it the way you are doing it, but I only know how to use the IP# for hosting. You would have to find a way to make a conduit between the USB protocol of your PPC and the IP protocol on your computer. You can JOIN this way but you cannot HOST.
This is the reason that Bluetooth (BT) devices don't host. Bluetooth doesn't use the Internet protocol (IP) for communicating. It uses a different protocol which is fine for JOINing a game but not for HOSTing over the Internet. BT is fine for HOSTing within the same room though if everyone uses the same computer for WiFi and BT.

Hey I have a zodiac and a 4350. My zodiac can log onto internet via bluetooth, and my 4350 can go via wifi.
If I host a multiplayer game on my 4350 over wifi, and two other people from seattle join, can my zodiac still join?

Verdagon,
As long as one of the two devices (PDAs) is a HOST for the game over the Internet.
In other words, The PPC (4350) would have to HOST the game first using WiFi.
Next, the Bluetooth enabled PDA (Zodiac) would join the game via the same computer the PPC is using for WiFi.
Next, the Seattle players would join the game via the Internet using their own PDAs after SPECIFYing the IP# of the HOSTing computer that the HOSTing PPC (4350) is connected to via WiFi.
