Why won't my avatar show up?

I know this is a bit off topic, but I colored myself a nice, cute little Free Radical Bullpup for use as my avatar. It is all the correct dimensions and size, and I can upload it fine, and it works for a few seconds, but then it disappears. What is going on?

I right-clidked on your avatar and downloaded the file to my computer to see if I could fix it for you, but it wouldn't open in any software that I had (and I have a bunch) What program did you edit it in? Maybe it got corrupted on download. If you like send it to me via email (phillipmccollam@yahoo.com) and I'll see what I can do with it! (Least I could do for a fellow Free Radical!)

I used MS Paint, in both GIF and JPEG. BMP was took large.

Anyway, thanks for the offer, and I'll use it if I need to, but I'm already trying to convince Claxbane to add it to the gallery. We'll see. :D
