In the vote you posted, you should have had one of the options be 'other' for people who had a different feature they would like to add.

I think that demolish-able objects would be cool, think how cool it would be if when your vehicle hit a tree the tree would fall down, or if there was a giant bolder blocking your path you could get your units and attack it, slowly blowing it away to get to the other side.

I think this would be a cool feature in the game, not that I am complaining because I fell that this game has already past my expiations 100%. :D :?: :D

You shold earn some extra money that does not effect the main game for compleating the missions, ect. And there should be a shop in the game's main menu that lets the person buy things like new maps, a skermish mode, new units to play in skrermish mode, and more things like that.
:D :D :D :D :D :D
What do you think cool or what?

Well, I don't like Advanced Wars, Turn based strategy games get boring pretty fast and don't have very much replay value.

Nah, the shop feature would suck.

If this game comes out with 3 things in the next few releases it is made!

1. A Level Editor, PC/MAC and maybe Handheld based

2. A Skirmish mode, for extended playability

3. Landscape mode on NX series devices ;)

This, IMO, would make this game on a very good par with ANY desktop RTS game :D

Peace

Yeah...but this is not that kind of game. Also, Landscape mode is only for devices that havea 320*480 screen (Clies, such as the NX, NR, and UX; and the Zodiac). It is when you trun the screen sideways (except on the UX and Zodiac, it is standard that way) to play the game.

K,
Thanks for the answer and i saw you suggestion for

"rally points from buildins, so the units go to a certain place after being built/trained"

and I think that would be cool and part of me thinks that should of been included from the start...

But, i cant complain becouse this already passes my Thought of what could be done on palm.

As PDA's progress, more features become available for developers to use that can be overlooked.

Now I noticed the Jog Dial and Back button on the Sony Clie line, my NX80V, have no use. When pressed, it pauses for a second and makes a noise. The noise is similiar to that when you scroll through your applications while using the PDA. Maybe these buttons can be used?

Also, the Jog Dial may tend to crash the NX80V. I found this out while being curious enough to try to use the Jog Dial while playing. Moved it one click and recieved the RESET screen explaining why it crashed. I reset it before thinking that you can use this to fix up and coming versions. I tried duplicating it but couldn't immediately. If I do, i'll let you know again.

Also, why does the game make some noise while scrolling around with the To Do, Memo, Address, Datebook, Up and Down keys? It sounds like the developers, you guys.. lol, tried muting it but it makes a speaker noise. Like a distortion of some sort.

Oh, and could you also customize the scrolling with To Do, Memo, Address, Datebook? When you close the NX80V and NZ90 over the keyboard, all you see is the screen with those 4 buttons at the bottom which only allows for scrolling left and right as Up and Down are not present. This may also cure up and coming Clie models that allows you to fold the screen over the keyboard.

Ah well... You guys still have THE best game out there. Congratulations!!! Although there are others that have an addicting factor equal, if not more.. depending on opinion, the game content is by far above anything else out there. You just can't compare it. A new standard has been set.

Now I know there is a multiplayer in the works but what would be nice is the uploading, ie, of an avatar of some sort.

I'm thinking that the new version would allow you to select profiles of characters and that's good and all but seeing your own avatar and having your avatar, maybe- if possible, on your oppenents screen would be so kewl. This may be done with the beaming or uploading of a file, the avatar, to your oppenent with him accepting the avatar or profile. Imagine uploading a profile with your pic and battling it out with someone. The profile would have to be selectable for deletion as a collection of profiles take up memory.. But that's why your game can run of Sony's memory sticks. Yay! Another feature to use.

I also think some other pics for the current characters would be kewl. Now I give props to Andy and all but he's not the kinda character that anyone would think that rox. No offense.. lol. The possibility of uploading pictures would be kewl too.. not really to replace but to enhance the game and make it more awesome  . But then that may lead to renaming characters and then it could get complicated.

The current pictures of these set of characters are ok but being partial to anime, I thought that some kewl anime inspired characters would've been awesome!

I know not everyone has a high end Clie and most of these things seem like they'll take up alot of space but Sony has memory sticks at your disposal. The smallest being 16mb, I think. Wonder if they still make them? Ah well.. Who cares? We're at 1 Gb memory sticks now and movies, uploading pics and profiles, anything and everything is possible. Oh well... Just some enhancement requests.

Congrats on finally bringing out a game that is truly a RTS in the ranks of C&C, Starcraft, Warcraft, etc. I really love it, it's awesome.

However, multiplayer gaming would definately be very nice to see. Me and my brother play C&C alot over network. However, we both have old Clies (N760C and T665C). But it still runs great.

Unfortunatlely, with the old Clies we have we can only use a max. of 128mb on MS. Pro doesn't work on the older Clies.

Or what about wireless playing or something similar to the sync/play. But then, that would probably a bit more complex to put together. Anyways, I really think this is a great RTS!

Being able to build a cloning chamber would be cool

*One like in mission 5*
*but smaller and makes only one extra unit for every unit you build*

Like in C&C red alert

Did this come up in bata testing?
Or were testers not able to suggest building just features?

Hello,

has anyone notice the Pocket PC version of the game?
It might be just me but does it look more zoomed in than the palm version. :?: :?:

look at the pictures from handango at:

http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=1&jid=B86812D7FC76D37947224XA13BF8CFC3&platformId=2&productType=2&sectionId=0&productId=85758&catalog=0

It could just be the size of the screenshot or the developers made the units bigger on the pocket pc version because of the better quality and faster processes and small on the palm for less quality so that it will still like highly detailed

Well actually I think I am wrong when I posted before. It is because the palm screenshots are shown at a higher resolution than the pocket pc. 320x320 oposed to 320x200

I have been looking at the polls and i saw that no
one has voted for the "2nd level generator (power from it=2 generators)"

Why is this :?: ...

More people voted for the "None this Game is Perfect" than the 2nd gen.

I was just wondering why this was??
Do you people not like this or what?

I don't even know what that really means. But, I voted for the "Map builder (both, for handheld and pc)." I voted for this because I want to make maps, and making maps would mean that you would need a skirmish mode too...;)

What I ment by this is that you could build a super generator that will give the player 2x as much power when build (Think something such as a Nuclear Power Vs Windmill.)

Everyone is asking for a map builder and Skirmish modes but that is it,
why dont people say what they want in those modes :?: :?: :?:

For example: I hope that if there is a skirmish mode it lets the user beable to choose between the Environment(snow, sunny, raining) and also a night/day feature would be cool.

In night the Enemy would not be-able to see as far,
allowing you to set up a Surprise attack.

I could maybe see the night and day feature, but that will still be hard on the Palm. The texture feature (grass, mountain, plain, etc.) could be done, but you also have to realize that the game (story line) is taking place on another planet and has different environments, and may not have all of the same. Snowing and raining will just slow teh game down (weather effects) alot. You have to realize that this is the Palm game. Yes, there are other things they could add without messing it up, but adding to many things will jsut make the game worse, at least performance wise (speed, affects, etc.), because the game is pushing the limits as is.

In short:
- Fix choppy menus on Tungsten T3.
- Fix choppy unit selection on Tungsten T3.
- Add waypoints for unit patrolling. (To fix the issue with units wandering off).
- Add rallypoints for HRC and VTS. (So finished units can gather at a selected location, not clogging in the base).
- Add music.
- Add walls and barrier structures.
- Add grouping (So that units can be grouped by clicking on on-screen buttons).
- Add guard mode (So that units can guard my miners automatically).
- Add stop button (Stops unit instantly).
- Add customizeable controls (I do not need to have 8 buttons bound to scrolling. Stop units could be one of them, for instance).

That's all I can come up with right now. It's quite a list, but I've seen requests of many of them in the forums, so I reckon they're highly wanted.

Great work, guys!

Guess I should throw in my suggestions:
Volume control (I can barely hear it)
higher quality sounds (alot of newer PDAs have headphones and I when I plug them in all I hear are little beeps since it's quieter than the PDA speaker)
waypoints and building rally points.
AI modes (offensive to chase enemies forever, defensive to chase enemies for a short distance then return to their starting point)
More AI modes (while moving, telling them to stop and fire when enemies are in range or to keep moving even when fired at.)
Advanced expansion slot support (putting launcher files on RAM, having the big 1.8 MB file on the flash card to save RAM)

I think the VS mode is highly wanted, although users confuse it with skirmish. (In e.g. C&C Red Alert, skirmish and VS mode are the same.)

honestly, the game is exceptional as is considering it is a PDA game. The more features you add, the more lines of code you need and the bigger the program...

Instead of trying to incorporate all kinds of bells and whistles, I would look to expand the game in the form of mission packs. Everyone would be happy to buy them and you don't need to write a bunch of code.

Create a "random map generator" to create a random map with bad guys and your spot. Give it a difficulty level to choose how tough the bad guys are and you have esentially unlimited missions.

Create a vs. mode via bluetooth. yes, this is a bunch of coding, but instead of the computer commanding the other unit, another handheld device does. Again, keep the game itself as is so there isnt a bunch of codework other than the bluetooth part.

Use the engine you have... tweak it ever so slightly, and sell mission packs. Use the revenue stream to fund the development of a 2.0 and you can then add all sorts of neat-o stuff in it.

Last, but not least, a few tweaks:

Highlight a group of men/tanks and give them orders. Orders would be to stop in place, defend an area (click) attack an area (click). Still use the shortcut, but add this feature. When you attack your men line up single file and tend to get hammered while they are trying to get into place -- oten destroyed before they manage to get a shot off. In attack mode, they would approach in a flank with the right hardware/men up front and maximize firepower as quickly as possible. Defense works the same way. You have to manually place characters on screen to keep them spread out or they will bunch up and get clobbered when enemy approach. They need to spread out on order and flank/defend where they can lay down the most firepower possible...

all the other stuff mentioned here is great, but lets get more missions and multiplayer before you head off into 2.0 land and we have nothing new to play for a year....

I think the way to look at is to get this game as close to the original command and conquer as possible. Keep it your own game but make it as feature rich as that game. With the new devices coming out it is possible. Here are some of my choice picks:

1.) Grouping - this is a basic feature for any rts. group them by numbers that can be designated by a on screeen button or by grafitti.

2.) Mulitplayer support - This game screams for mulitplayer battles but i beg you if you do this don't make it bluetooth only. Take the example of Rifle SLugs and embrass the wifi market as well. If i could log onto a server a start a game i would probably fail college.

3.) Mission Editor - Definately PC/Mac support but if a palm edition could be made that would be cool too. Now this is just s pipe dream but if a basic level of script could be put in there that would be awesome. Tower Defense maps made famous by warcraft and starcraft would be a lot of fun to play. Again just a pipe dream.

4.) New Units - Lets see some more units of different types. Maybe 1 or 2 new infantry units, no more tanks, maybe a new tower, definately a new class like air or something unique that fights into the storyline would be cool too, but create more stradegy oppurtunities. this of course will also bollestor the mplayer aspect (if emplemented of course)

5.) I didn't even think about this until i read it but music would be cool. Just your basic rts backing music that adds that little something.

So those are my 5 that i would like to see. Either way you go this is by far one of the most in depth games i have ever played on palm. I am incredibly impressed.

I would really like to see a map editor. Between PC based and handheld based I would prefer PC-based hands down. Editing a map on the handheld, while not impossible, would be pretty damned hard. I'd also like to see the map editor be released for Mac OS X - the macintosh base is often forgotten when level editors come out for many games. If/when Darrin and Scott come out with a level editor, I'll host a competition or two to see who can make the best map, and perhaps we'll have a full campaign competition as well.

I want to have 'heroes', say infantry or vehicles that gain levels and become stronger, and you don't lose them when you go to the next mission, they carry over.

I also want 'cinematic' mode. Not really videos, but you can pan and scroll the map and show little movies in the map maker.

Make it a lot like warcraft custom maps.

1) Support for Treo 600 navigation pad

2) Add more campaigns for current version - campaign packs that we can buy would be great.

What I'd like to see to make me a happy rts'er is a skirmish mode and preferably multiplayer.

And having your units attack buildings automatically (having a lower priority than hostile units offcourse), it's really annoying to click each building seperately now.

Then an attack button would come in real handy (instead of just moving to the spot, your units move while attacking anything they come across).

That's about all I can think of that would really improve the game for me, the rest of the game is great.

The ability to select multiple buildings and tell them to build at the same time would be cool

I think that they should make adjustable resolution and much larger maps with the mini map minimiseable. so you can use more of your screen for commands and stuff.

Now that we already have a map builder, I think a Skirmish Mode would kick ass :D

yes, yes yes, Now, I dont own the game yet, and I dont know all the features, but I would like to say that my friend has the demo, it is SOOOOO fun!!!!!!!

I agree with everyone in saying SKRIMISH MODE!!!!

Also, I see that everyone is dieing, and I hear that there are no new items, in the patches... Maybe you could just add something small, a tree, or even as big as a new unit, just to spice up the game and keep everyone occoupied for a while til the next patch comes along.....

I have a question: When will the expansion come out? Is there any planned release date?

Oh, and maybe a map editor for your palm, so that you can make maps while on a plane or something.......

Hope this makes sence.....

I think that, before implementing any of this, they really need to allow us to move the game to a card, and run ON THE CARD. This means, use of VFS in order to access the files on the card and move to memory, just the necessary objects. This way, the game will have a much smaller memory requirements and will allow the developers to put more stuff in there.

This is what is done with any pc game, and, even on palms, most of the dictionaries does the same. It would be impossible to have apps like msdict that have multiple language files with more than 10-15MB in size.

The way it is today, game needs to be all in memory in order to play.

Just after this, I think we can have new implementations on the game.

Landscape mode: i.e. Tungsten t3 where you can flip the screen to landscape (horizontal). Can also retract the grafiti area.

You can make (as in draw in paint  ) new units. just look at games like space empires 3. it would be cool cause then you could make entire mods. like a WW1 & WW2 mods.

I think it will be really great to have some wall building and larger bases.

Also it will be great to have some mini bases, for instance, for repearing vehicles using repair bop building. So we need a mini dominion, who can build just wall, turets and so...

And how about unit groups. Like some buttons for grouping in toolbar.
