It's incredibly annoying when your army goes marching in... one by one, and in turn getting slaughtered. Anyone who is on the defensive has an advantage, because they don't need to move to form the maximum firepower wall formation. It would be better to have army travel in nice blocks, and be able to put more important units in back such as the cyclops.

I totally agree. There's nothing more annoying than a one-by-one parade of units walking into death. I find that a good strategy is to just make the wall, right out of their range and then send a unit a little further to start the battle.

What if there was an option to select different formations?! Like after you drag the selection box over some 10 soldiers there was an option to form them into a block formation or a half circle formation! A outline of the formation could pop up and the troops could fill the "mold" of the formation.

Think StarCraft
Attack-move as default
Better to make hold postion, keep moving, and attack-move, but at least make the default to attack while in motion

This has been brought up before. There are certain scenarios and tactics that require you to move into or past the enemy. For instance, Andy can run past a gatling tower and survive if he runs straight through. But, he will die if he stops to return fire. So, the developers sided with human units move to the target destination without returning fire.

I think just an option would be nice, like if we hold the destination tap down for two seconds, then its move. if we tap fast, then it's attack.

Or, like in Age of Empires, Pocket PC (Yes, I am always bringing that game up,) a small menu bar appears at the bottom of the screen with "hold ground." Warfare could have options like "block formation," "line formation," and maybe even "no formation." Then, there would be the same bar, a distance apart, "aggressive stance" (where the units do attack back at building), and "passive stance" where they go right by, taking the damage.
